The government will purchase 300 double-decker and 100 articulated buses to ease the nagging traffic snarl-up in the capital city.
Planning Ministry gave the nod in principle to purchase the buses under the dollar credit line of India, reports BSS.
The issue was discussed in the fourth meeting of parliamentary standing committee on the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridge at Jatiya Sangsad (JS) on Wednesday.
Md Akabbar Hossain, MP, chairman of the committee presided over the meeting.
Among others, Road Transport and Bridge Minister Obaidul Quader, AKAM Awal (Saidur Rahman), Rezwan Ahmed Toufiq, Nuruzzaman Ahmed, Nazmul Haque Prodhan, Md Monirul Islam and Lutfun Nesa, were present at the meeting.
