A solo exhibition, titled “The Macabre World,” by painter Subrata Das is being held at the EMK Center and will conclude on October 23.
It his third exhibition, Subrata seeks to break away from the tradition of presenting objects as they apparently are, provoking a myriad of human thoughts and emotions.
He infuses life into inanimate objects through imaginative images in his paintings, portraying man, life, society, politics and time in a way that strikes newer relationships among the ingredients of art, through the evolution of subjects, thoughts and perspectives.
The objects in his paintings are brought to life with macabre appearances, hence the title.
