'JMB threatens' bomb attacks on Chittagong court

The security measures in Chittagong court premises have been tightened as an unidentified JMB activist threatened to launch bomb attack in the building on Tuesday morning.

A member of Chittagong Bar Executive Committee informed about the death threat to the police on Tuesday.

Kotwali police station Officer-in-Charge AKM Mohiuddin Salem told the Dhaka Tribune: “Chittagong Bar executive member Manosh Kumer received a phone call around 9am. A man introducing him as a JMB activist threatened to launch bomb attack on the court building.”

Manosh Kumer also filed a general diary in this connection with Kotoali police station.

Chittagong Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner (Prosecution) Nirmolendo Bikash Chakraborty said: “We have tightened the security measures in the area, immediately after the threat.”

All kinds of detective agencies are also deployed in the court premises to ensure safety of people, he added.
