Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has urged all to come forward to reduce disaster risk alongside the government and non-government organisations' efforts.
The premier made the call in a message issued on the occasion of the International Day for Disaster Risk.
Sheikh Hasina said the government has taken a number of effective measures to minimise the loss of lives and property caused by different natural calamities.
Disaster Risk Reduction will be observed on Monday in Bangladesh as well as the rest of the world.
The theme of this year's International Day for Disaster risk Reduction "Resilience for life" is time-befitting.
"We can make Bangladesh a disaster resilient country by utilising the experiences of elderly people on disaster management," she added.
She also wished all the programmes of the day to be a grand success.
