DSE resumes trade today

Trading at Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) resumes today, after nine-day long festival and weekend holidays.

Before closure, the stock market performed bullish over the last five weeks.

On October 3 when holiday started, the benchmark index DSEX saw steepest rise of over  84 points or 1.6% to settle at 5,237, its highest level since launching and biggest ever single-day rise. Turnover in value hovered around Tk900 crore.

Prospect of higher economic growth, calm in political field and substantial increase of foreign investment have fired up investor sentiment, stock dealers said.
