A private car crashed onto a tree in Mirzapur of Tangail district killing two women and injured three more on Tuesday. The deceased were identified as Monowara Begum, 70, and Doli Akter, 15, both from Pakshi of Pabna district, the injured were admitted to Mirzapur Kumudini Hospital.
Another accident in Shatmile area on Dhaka-Sylhet highway killed Agrani Bank DGM Nurul Afsar, 48, his daughter Fatema, 18 and the driver of the microbus Polash, 37, leaving three more of the family injured. The family was going for a family trip to Sylhet.
On another incident on Dhaka-Chittagong highway near Feni bypass, a bus toppled over and killed Mujuibul Haque and another unknown man on Tuesday at 2:30am. The accident also injured ten passengers. According to police and witnesses, the bus driver was trying to save a CNG taxi coming straight head-on towards the bus. The injured are in treatment in different government and private hospitals.
An old pedestrian Hafizuddin, 65, was hit and killed by a microbus at Imadpur at 11am yesterday in Mymensingh. Police captured the vehicle but the driver managed to escape. Hafizuddin was crossing the road when the incident happened.
A victim of hit and run, a local singer SM Rana, 30, succumbed to dead after 12 hours of treatment at Feni sadar hospital on yesterday. A pickup truck hit Rana when Rana went to have a cup of tea at Zero Point of Dagonbhuiyan in Feni.
