More than 100 peoples have been injured in group clashes in Habiganj and Bramhanbaria districts on Wednesday over trivial matter.
In Habiganj, one Abdul Karim, a resident of Baktarpur village under Bahubal upazila along with some of his accomplices locked into a fierce clash with Hannan Mia and his associates over ownership of a pond on Wednesday.
The clash erupted between the two groups when Hannan along with his accomplices came to pond area to establishing supremacy.
The groups used lethal weapons during the clash that lasted more than one hour. Chase and counter-chase also took place during the clash, leaving 50 people injured.
Upon receiving information, police rushed to the spot. But some of the police personnel sustained injuries when they were dispersing the clashing groups.
Of the injured, 20 people were admitted to Habiganj Sadar Hospital.
Assistant Police Superintended Sazzad Ibn Raihan endorsed the information to the Dhaka Tribune.
He said additional police force was deployed in the area to avoid further violence.
In Bramhanbaria, more than 40 people were injured in a clash over previous feud between two groups led by Sheikh Mohosin and Abul Khayer.
On receiving the information, police rushed to the spot and managed to bring the situation under control after firing six rounds of bullets.
Both groups used lethal weapons during the clash.
Assistant Police Superintended Tapash Ranjan Ghosh said they have arrested 13 people in this connection.
