Three people have been killed and three other injured in a head-on collision between two motorbikes in Rajshahi city's Sipaipara area early Wednesday.
The deceased are Rashedul Islam, 24, son of Abul Kalam Azad, of Mahish Bathan area in the city, Rana, 25, son of Deloar Hossain, of Ghoramara, and Muktadeer Rahman, 25, son of Mizanur Rahman, of Sagor Para area of the city.
Officer-in-Charge of Rajpara police station Mehedi Hasan, said: “The two bikes carrying three people each collided head-on near the Rajshahi Jail at midnight, leaving Rashed and Rana dead on the spot.”
“After the collision, one of the bikes caught fire. Later firefighters rushed in, rescued four injured people from the spot and admitted them to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. Later, Muktadeer died while undergoing treatment.”
A case has been filed with Rajpara police station in connection with the accident, Mehedi added.
