A person has died and his son injured in a clash over carrom play at Dakkhin Khailkur area of Gazipur.
The deceased is Motaleb Mia, 42; and injured is Humayun Kabir, 19.
Joydebpur police station Sub-Inspector Shafiqul Islam said Humayun along with his three friends were playing carrom around 9:30pm on Tuesday.
He said three including Sajib and Limon beat Humayun up at one stage of altercation over a move of the game. Being informed, Humayun's father Motaleb rushed to the spot.
"The youths started fisting Motaleb when he asked them why they had beaten his son. At one stage, Motaleb fell down and the attackers fled the scene," he added.
Police took Motaleb and Humayun to Gazipur sadar hospital where on duty doctor declared Motaleb dead.
