Two people have been killed and three others injured as a private car crushed into a roadside tree in Mirzapur of Tangail district.
The deceased could not be identified immediately.
Gorai highway police station Officer-in-Charge Jubaidul Alam said: “A Tangail-bound private car crushed into a roadside tree when its driver lost control over its steering near Mirzapur Cadre College around 9am on Tuesday.”
He said: “One of the passengers of the car died on the spot. Later, one of the injured succumbed to injuries at Kumudini Hospital.”
“The private car hailed from Dhaka. However, their identities were yet to be known,” he added.
The OC said the injured are being treated at the hospital.
