50-km tailback on Dhaka-Tangail highway

A 50-kilometre long tailback has been created on Dhaka-Tangail highway as several vehicles went out of order on the highway.

Elenga highway police outpost sergeant Kamruzzaman Raj said: “The traffic gridlock was created following disorder of vehicles on the highway since 3am on Thursday.”

The tailback has stretched from Elenga of Tangail to Chandra of Gazipur.

The vehicles are moving very slowly due to the tailback, the police official said.

The highway police are trying to take effective steps to normalise the situation, he added.
