Four bogies and a power car of a train have derailed at Chinki Astana railway station under Mirsharai upazila in Chittagong.
Mizanur Rahman, divisional commercial officer of Bangladesh Railway (East zone), said: “Four bogies and a power car of Mahanagar Pravati Express snapped in the double track at the station around 8:45am on Thursday.”
A rescue train from Chittagong station rushed to the spot and started rescue operation, he said.
Train movement is going on a bit slow as only one track is available for plying, added Mizan.
