Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi joined a state dinner hosted by US President Barack Obama at the White House on Monday night.
However, Modi did not eat anything during the dinner. He only had warm water, Times of India reported quoting the external affairs ministry.
Modi was welcomed by Obama who greeted him in Gujarati, "Kem Chho?" (how are you?), the mother tongue of the Indian prime minister.
First Lady Michelle Obama, however, was not present at the dinner.
Modi was accompanied by external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj, national security advisor Ajit Doval and Indian ambassador to the US S Jaishankar among others.
