The American embassy has opened a visa centre for the first time in Sylhet.
Embassy's Vice Consul Will Romine inaugurated the American visa centre at Anondo Tower on Sunday morning.
Romine said: “The initiative to open a visa centre in Sylhet has been taken to ease the services of the American embassy. Now, the applicants can directly submit and collect their passports from the office in Sylhet.”
He said: “Whose multiple visa has expired after 2008 can apply for visa by submitting their passports in the drop-box. The centre will also provide American City Service in the future.”
Saimon Group Managing Director and Chairman M A Mohaimin Sohel, Sylhet Public Prosecutor Advocate Misbah Uddin Shiraj, Police Super Nurey Alam Meena and Sylhet Press Club President Iqbal Siddiqi, among the others, were present in the programme.
