Mozena: Bangladesh a country of many potentialities

Bangladesh is a country of many potentialities, US ambassador to Bangladesh Dan W Mozena has said.

After completing traveling in 64 districts through Comilla trip, the US diplomat made the assessment in a press conference at Comilla Circuit House on Saturday.

Bangladesh is working well to build itself as a middle-income country striving with the challenges of electricity, gas, fuel, communications, education, food and health sectors, Mozena said.

“If it becomes able to deal with challenges, it will rise as not only a middle-income country but one of the economic tigers in the world economy,” the envoy predicted.

He said Bangladesh will once roar as the Royal Bengal Tiger.

Mozena also marked Bangladesh as a country of a nice religious harmony where people of all religions - Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists and Christians - practise their religions, co-existing in the same place.

The US ambassador stressed on increasing ties among Bangladesh, India and Myanmar to boost up trade and commerce.

In the press conference, officials of US embassy in Dhaka and Comilla district administration were also present.

Earlier in the day, Mozena visited to Vijoypur of Comilla and saw round the ceramics products.
