A female child has been killed as a truck ran over her at Durgapur area of Kapasia upazila in Gazipur.
The victim is Suraiya, 7, daughter of Faiz Uddin of the area.
Sub-Inspector of Kapasia police station Jashim Uddin said the girl was standing on a rod of Durgapur area around 10am on Saturday.
As she was trying to evade a truck which was coming from behind, she slipped over and went under the wheels. She died instantly.
Suraiya was a student of the local Brac School. Locals seized the truck, however the driver managed to flee the area. Her body was sent to her relatives as per their request.
