The Belarusian government will provide $15 million to Bangladesh as long-term assistance for the development of country's readymade garment (RMG) sector.
Belarusian Prime Minister Mikhail V Myasnikovich expressed the interest during a meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the UN Headquarters in New York of USA Wednesday on the sidelines of the 69th UN General Assembly.
After the meeting, PM's Media Adviser Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury briefed reporters.
Myasnikovich reiterated his government's commitment to continue cooperation with Bangladesh and the government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
He said as a leading potash-producing country of the world, Belarus wants to export the product to Bangladesh.
He also showed interest to import world class pharmaceutical goods as well as agri products from Bangladesh.
The PM put emphasis on boosting cooperation in the areas of investment and trade in the private sector of two countries.
