A 45-km tailback created on Dhaka-Tangail highway has come to normalcy.
Traffic inspector of Tangail Shah Md Arifur Rahman told the Dhaka Tribune.
The traffic gridlock was created following a road accident at Shuvullah area under Mirzapur upazila of the district early Thursday.
Highway police outpost Sergeant Kamruzzaman Raj said: “The tailback occurred when a turmeric-laden truck hit a bridge’s rally as the driver lost control over its steering in Shuvullah area on Dhaka-Tangail highway around 3am.”
He said: “The tailback has taken a serious turn as another tobacco-laden truck turned upside down near Jamurki area on the highway around 4am.”
The highway police have recovered the trucks form the area around 9am and trying to normalise the vehicular movement, he added.
