A Sylhet court has ordered the interrogation of 13 leaders and activists of the Chhatra Dal at the jail gate in connection with a case filed over a factional clash.
They are Sylhet district unit JCD president Advocate Syed Ahmad,37, JCD leader Farooq Ahmad, Sumin Ahmed Chowdhury,27, Ziaur Rahman Romel,29, Ahmed Zaki,26, Md Mizan Ahmed,25,Masum Ahmed,26,Afzal Hossain,23, Rezoan Hossain,23, Sawal alias Sagor,18, Ali Akbar Rajon, 27, Akhtaruzzaman,23, Faiz Ahmad,27 and Raisul Islam Sony,27.
Sylhet Metropolitan Magistrate, Mst Farhana Yasmin, passed the order on Tuesday after Rafiqul Islam, the investigating officer of the case and also a Sub-Inspector of the Airport police station, produced them before the court with a five-day remand plea.
Earlier on Friday, two factions of the Sylhet JCD locked in a clash over acquisition of positions in the newly announced metropolitan and district committees.
Later, Airport police station Sub-Inspector, Md Mahbubur Rahman, filed a case under the explosive act against 40 unnamed and 27 named JCD members.
