Sonam Kapoor has termed THE Deepika Padukone incident as stupid. While making clear that the two bombshells share no feelings of fraternity except being co-workers.
Sonam said: “Deepika is extremely diplomatic, so it must have been something stupid (the incident) that she reacted like that.”
She also added: “We are constantly being objectified, be it kissing scenes or wearing bikinis. Everything becomes a point of publicity and news. I am sorry that it happened to her. It’s obviously not right. I feel bad for her, but I feel for the rest of us also,” Sonam told reporters.
Recently, when the reporter asked her to comment on “good-friend” Deepika, Sonam snapped back saying Deepika is not a “good-friend, she is a colleague.”
She continued nonchalantly, “As long as women stop objectifying themselves, people will stop objectifying them.”
When asked to elaborate, the actress retorted, “People have to respect themselves first for people to respect them.
I hope that answers your question.”
Times of India had exposed a video of Deepika Padukone’s “cleavage show” - a distasteful act to which Deepika responded with fire, tweeting:”Yes! I am a woman. I have breasts and a cleavage! You got a problem!!??”
Deepika’s response has been lauded and appreciated by many sections of inside India and beyond.
