Four children have been injured after an explosion of a stray crude bomb near a pond at the Jabbar Jute Mill in Panchabatti village under Bhairab upazila of Kishoreganj.
Police and local sources said the explosion took place on Sunday afternoon when the children unknowingly got to play with a crude bomb which had a shape like a tennis ball.
As it exploded, the wrist of Hridoy, 10, son of Akkas Mia blew away and his sister Marufa, 7, Surma, 7, daughter of Khalil and Arash, 3, daughter of Jakir were seriously injured.
The injured were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in a critical state.
Officer-in-Charge Bazlul Alam Talukder of Bhairab police station confirmed the incident to the Dhaka Tribune.
He said: “Police collected evidences of the crude bomb explosion from the scene.”
Necessary actions will be taken in this connection, the OC added.
