Customs officials have detained a person with 58 gold bars weighing 7kg at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong.
The detainee is Mohammad Ali, 23.
Chittagong Customs House Assistant Commissioner Topon Kumar Chakrabarty said: “We recovered the gold bars after searching his body around 10:30am on Sunday. He arrived at the airport in a flight of Fly Dubai.”
He said: “The gold bars are worth Tk2.90 crore.”
