Four people have been killed and four others injured when a covered van collided head-on with a pickup van at Jamurki area under Mirzapur upazila in Tangail district.
The deceased are Lebu Miah, 40, of Jamurki village, Abdur Rashid, 65, of Chinamura village, Ismail Hossain, 60, of Boali and Sohel Hossain, 30.
Gorai highway police station Officer-in-Charge Jobaidul Alam said: “A Dhaka-bound covered van collided head-on with a Tangail bound pickup van at Jamurki area around 6:45am on Sunday.”
“The pickup van crushed into a grocery shop after colliding with the covered van, leaving the shop owner Lebu Miah dead on the spot and injuring seven passengers of the vehicles,” he said.
The OC said the injured were rushed to Tangail Medical College Hospital where Abdur Rashid, Ismail Hossain and Sohel Hossain succumbed to their injures.
