A person has been killed and 30 others have been injured when a passenger bus plunged into a roadside ditch at Tower area in Noakhali.
The deceased is identified Jashim Uddin, 45, of village Anderchar under sadar upazila of the district.
Sudharam model police station Officer-in-Charge Mosharaf Hossain Tarafder said: “A Sonapur-bound passenger bus collided with a CNG-run auto-rickshaw and plunged into a roadside ditch when its driver lost his control over steering at Tower area.”
“One of the passengers of the auto-rickshaw died on the spot while 30 passengers of the bus were injured in the accident,” he said.
Later, locals went to the spot and sent the injured to Noakhali Abdul Malek Ukil Medical College Hospital and private clinics.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Noakhali Abdul Malek Ukil Medical College for autopsy.
