The police have recovered the body of a six-year-old girl from Crescent Lake at Chandrima Udyan of the capital.
Witnesses said they noticed the floating body of the victim, Champa, at the lake and informed the police immediately.
Sher-e-Banglanagar police station Sub Inspector Munshi Sabbir Ahmed said: “being informed, we recovered the body around 8am and sent it to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue.”
“Primarily the police suspected that she might have fallen in the lake while playing in the area and drowned. The investigation is underway. Detailed information can be given after the investigation.”
