Police have arrested a pirate from his residence at Haimchar upazila of Chandpur.
A police team led by SI of Haimchar police station, MD Abul Kashem arrested Khoka Peda from his house at Isanbala of Haimchar.
Local alleged that Peda used to extort money from fishermen in Meghna and used to take away fishes and nets of those who denied to give money.
Sometimes he would beat up the fishermen as well, they said.
Police said three fisherman -- Kashem, Azhar and Billal lodged a case against Peda and 10 to 12 other people.
Police arrested Peda following the allegation.
