A joint drive has begun to evict the illegal establishments near Karwan Bazar rail track following the tragic train mishap that killed four persons on Thursday.
The joint team of Railway Police, Railway authorities and Dhaka Metropolitan Police started evicting illegal establishment at the left side of Karwan Bazar fish market around 9:30am.
The team will evict structures from Karwan Bazar level crossing to Tejgaon intersection, Abdul Mazid, officer-in-charge of Kamalapur GRP told the Dhaka Tribune.
He said the drive to evict illegal structures would continue.
On Thursday, four persons, including two women, were killed and five others received serious injuries when a train rammed into a makeshift market on its rail tracks near Karwan Bazar Kitchen Market in the capital.
