A district court has issued arrest warrants against 18 BNP leaders and activists in the Bangla film actor Shabnur's father murder case.
Sylhet Metropolitan Magistrate Anwarul Haque issued the arrest warrants after accepting the charges against 38 BNP leaders and activists in the murder case.
Of the 38 accused, 11 appeared before the court and sought bail in the case.
The court granted bail to 10 accused and rejected the petition of one.
According to the case statement, some unidentified miscreants set a passenger bus ablaze on Dhaka-Sylhet Highway in December 18, 2011, leaving Kazi Naser, father of actor Shabnur, killed.
Later, Surma police station Sub Inspector Harun Majumder filed a case accusing 40 persons.
On August 9, police submitted charge sheet against 38 as BNP leader Ilias Ali and Chhatra Dal leader Iftekhar Ahmed Dinar went missing.
