The BNP-led 20-party alliance party’s rally, protesting the government’s move to empower parliament to impeach the Supreme Court judges, has begun in the city’s Suhrawardy Udyan.
The rally began around 3pm in the afternoon.
Among others, BNP Standing Committee Members Mirza Abbas and Dr Abdul Moin Khan and alliance leaders are present in the rally.
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia will not address the rally.
Leaders and activists of the alliance gathered at the venue with processions since the afternoon.
Earlier, the BNP-led 20-party alliance has announced a two-day programme against the "anti-people" bill.
The alliance staged demonstration in district and divisional headquarters on Wednesday.
