Case filed over bomb attacks on CU buses

A case has been filed with Hathazari police station of Chittagong in connection with the crude bombs attacks on two Chittagong University teachers’ buses that left at least 10 teachers injured.

CU transport department Acting Director Rabiul Islam filed the case against 15-20 unnamed persons on Wednesday night, CU Proctor Siraj Ud Daula told the Dhaka Tribune.

At least 14 people, including 10 teachers, were injured in a crude bomb attack on two Chittagong University buses.

The incident took place in Chharpool area of Patayabad under Hathazari upazila in Chittagong on Wednesday morning.

Following the incidents, police had already nabbed 17 people and recovered five crude bombs, two sacks of sharps weapons, arms and bomb making materials in separate drives in this connection, said Additional Superintendent of Police Shahidullah.

Meanwhile, police have filed another case over arms recovery against some 75 persons with Hathazari police station, said OC Md Ismail Hossain.
