Nat’l Rugby begins tomorrow

The Walton Motorcycle 4th National Rugby Championship starts at the Paltan Ground and the Physical Education College ground from Thursday with the participation of 12 teams.

In a press conference held at the Bangabandhu National Stadium yesterday, Mousum Ali, the general secretary of the Bangladesh Rugby Union said the champions will get Tk20000 and the runners-up team will receive Tk10000. The Rugby union will also provide the jerseys and accommodation.

As the sponsors Walton has provided Tk300000. FM Iqbal bin Anwar Dawn, the additional director of Walton hoped rugby gradually increases its popularity in the country.

Tournament secretary Saeed Ahmed and Rugby Union vice president Abdullah al Zahir were also present on the occasion.
