A Dhaka court has sentenced a man to death and five others to life term imprisonment in a schoolboy murder case in Netrakona.
Dhaka Speedy Trial Tribunal-3 judge ABM Sajedur Rahman passed the order on Monday in the presence of the accused.
It also ordered 10 years of detention for two youths.
The death convict is Mukhlesur Rahman while the five life-term convicts are Habibur Rahman Bukul, a teacher of Noapara High School, his brother Matiur Rahman, Ramin Mia, Musharraf Hossain and Afzal Hossain Rob.
The two youths are Lutfur Rahman, 14, and Jahangir Alam Titu, 14.
The court ordered to keep them in a youth correction centre until they reach the age of 18.
On October 15, 2011, Mizanur Rahman Babu, a class seven student of Noapara High School in Kendua of Netrokona, was slaughtered over his school management committee issue.
Victim’s father Sanju Rahman filed a murder case with Kendua Thana on the same day.
In 2013, the Netrokona court transferred the case to Dhaka Speedy Trial Tribunal-3.
