Authorities of Mitford Hospital have suspended a doctor for assaulting a nurse physically.
Brig Gen Zakir Hasan, director of Mitford Hospital, confirmed the Dhaka Tribune about the suspension of the doctor.
Intern doctor Rafiqul Islam Sujon beat up senior nurse Bakul Rani Das at one stage of altercation over a trivial matter at the labour ward of the hospital around 1:30pm, Jasim, general secretary of Bangladesh Diploma Nurses Association said.
A three-member committee led by head of child department Lutful Khabir has been formed to investigate the incident, said the hospital director.
Other members of the probe body are Dr Ferdousy Begum and Dr Emranul Alam.
The injured nurse was admitted to casualty ward of the hospital.
