Some 8-9 crude bombs have been hurled at a Chittagong University (CU)-bound shuttle train near the cantonment railway station in Chittagong port city.
Sulashahar station master Md Shahabuddin confirmed the incident to the Dhaka Tribune.
The train came under crude bombs attack by unidentified miscreants after the train left the cantonment railway station at 8am on Saturday, he said.
No casualty was reported till filing of this report at 11:45am.
However, train communications are normal on the route, he said.
Activists of General Students of CU (GSCU), a section of students, have been staging a strike on the campus since last Sunday demanding the reopening of two dormitories, interrupting the shuttle train scheduled to start towards the university at 7:50am and demanded suspension of the service.
