Convicted war criminal and former chief of Jamaat-e-Islami Ghulam Azam has been taken to the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University.
Brig Gen Abdul Majid, director of BSMMU, told the Dhaka Tribune that Ghulam Azam was shifted to CCU from the prison cell following breathing difficulties around 10:30am.
"He is out of danger and his condition is normal now," he added.
On July 15 last year, the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) 1 handed down Ghulam Azam 90 years imprisonment.
