Parliament goes into third session Monday

The third session of the 10th parliament will begin on Monday at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.

All preparations have been taken for the session to be started at 5pm, said Parliament secretariat sources, reports BSS.

The business and duration of the session will be finalised in a meeting of the Parliamentary Business Advisory Committee to be held at 4 pm.

Chairman of the committee Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury will preside over the meeting.

In the third session, the 16th amendment bill of the constitution with the provision of restoring the parliament's authority to impeach the Supreme Court judges is scheduled to be placed.

The cabinet has already approved the draft of the bill.

President M Abdul Hamid summoned the session on 11 August as per Article 72 (1) of the constitution.
