A garment factory, housed in Mirpur-1 in the capital, has caught fire on Sunday evening.
The fire broke out around 5:35pm at Cordial Design Factory in Mirpur-1, Fire Service Control Room staff Ziaur Rahaman told the Dhaka Tribune.
On information, 12 units of firefighters rushed in and doused the flame after two hours frantic effort.
Rafiqul Islam, assistant director of Mirpur fire service and civil defense confirmed around 7.20pm.
The fire originated at fourth floor of the building and the reason behind the fire is still unclear, he said.
However, some factory workers told the Dhaka Tribune that no causalities were spotted as factory workers left the building around 5.15pm.
