A Supreme Court lawyer has filed a writ petition with the High Court challenging the legality to conduct MBBS and BDS examinations under government's supervision.
Supreme Court lawyer Eunus Ali Akond filed the petition on Wednesday afternoon.
He urged the court to issue a rule upon the government seeking an explanation regarding under which authority the government is conducting the examinations.
He also sought the court's directive about not to hold the examinations until the writ's settlement.
In his petition, Eunus Ali Akond said: "According to the Medical and Dental Council Act 2010, the council is supposed to conduct the examinations process.”
The respondents of the petitions are health secretary, director and directorate general of health department, director of health care provision and education, Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council and Dhaka University.
