The draft of amended Bangladesh Secretariat (Non-Cadre Gazetted Officers and Non-Gazetted Employees) Recruitment Rules is going to be placed before the authorities concerned for approval.
Sources at the Public Administration Ministry confirmed, saying the draft, which was made and amended by the ministry, would be presented in a Secretary Committee on Administrative Reform meeting supposed to be held in Secretariat today to ensure final approval, the last step on the way to a gazette notification in this regard.
The ministry made the amendment within six months after it was published in March this year.
According to the draft copy, the age limit for the eligible candidates was proposed at 40 years with six years of minimum experience requirement in getting a promotion by the class-III and IV employees was lessened by one year while the promotion quota was increased to 40 percent from the existing 30.
The number of the written test and the viva voce for the employees was proposed at 70 and 30 respectively and the Member of Lower Supporting Staffs (MLSS), Daptari and Duplicating Machine Operator designations would be replaced by Office Help.
According to the cabinet division officials, a gazette in this regard would come soon if the committee will approve in the meeting. They claimed that there will have changes in some other provisions as well.
