Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali yesterday said the D-8 (Developing-8) has immense potentials to emerge as a powerful economic bloc as its member states have vast mineral and human resources.
He laid emphasis on enhancing communication among the member states through introducing visa exemption for diplomatic and government passport holders, ensuring smoother air connectivity and establishing residential diplomatic missions in their capitals, reports UNB.
The Foreign Minister said this when visiting D-8 Secretary General Dr Seyed Ali Mohammad Mousavi met him at his office. Mahmood Ali also focused on enhancing cooperation in the areas of trade, agriculture, food security, transportation and energy.
Earlier, Mousavi met State Minister for Foreign Affairs M Shahriar Alam at the latter’s office and discussed issues to make the organization stronger and more effective.
