72 BNP men sent to jail in four speedy trial tribunal cases

At least 72 BNP leaders and activists were sent to jail in Natore yesterday after being denied bail in 4 speedy trial tribunal cases.

Chief Judicial Magistrate of Natore, Liaquot Ali Molla passed the order after the BNP activists appeared before the court with bail prayer.

The four cases were filed with the speedy trial tribunal following a clash between BNP and Awami League activists after the Baraigram upazilla election on March 23.

Four local Awami League activists, Jahir Khamaru, Shamsul Islam, Taijul Islam and Gulzar lodged the cases accusing the BNP men of vandalism and looting.
