Rail communication between Mymensingh and North Bengal has been restored after three and a half hours' of efforts of the salvage team.
The rail communication was disrupted after one of the compartments of a Dhaka-bound Jamuna Express derailed at Mintu College level crossing in Mymensingh around 6:15am.
Abdus Sattar, officer-in-charge of Mymensingh GRP, said a relief team rushed to the spot and cleared the line around 9:45am.
Around 50 slippers of the rail track were damaged due to the derailment, said the OC.
"Several Dhaka-bound trains from the North Bengal got stranded in different stations because of the derailment," he added.
However, no casualty was reported in the incident.
