Arefin Shuvo, the diligent macho actor is going to be one of the busiest actors of Dhallywood. With three films in pipeline “Kistimat,” “Chhaya Chhobi” and “Chhuye Dile Mon” the actor has already worked with many of Dhallywood’s dazzling divas including Purnima, Bidya Sinha Mim, Jaya Ahsan, Mahiya Mahi, Momo to name a few. Currently the actor is shooting for “Warning” against Mahiya Mahi. During the pause of the shooting in BFDC, the Dhaka Tribune caught up with the actor about his recent works and many more.
What’s your role in “Warning?” Any exception this time?
This time around, I am playing the enraged victim whose parents were killed by a mafia leader. For genuine portrayal of the character, I have tried out several looks which are not that glamorous. But I really hope the audience will appreciate my effort.
Which one of your films established you with a trademark role?
Honestly speaking, till date I have not had any chance to work in any film with such trademark role but I hope someday someone (director) will come to me with such a role that is especially designed for me only.
Are we going to see you in “Agnee 2?”
I am not playing in that sequel.
Why?
I think I have already given all my efforts and dedication to what the character demand. Now I have nothing left that I could give to “Agnee 2.”
How about tying knot with a heroine?
I have never given a thought to this before. To be honest, I do not want to engage any heroine with my life.
I have my respect and honour for them as artistes and colleagues. But I think a simple girl would suit me the most. I don’t want to marry a film star.
Who was your childhood crush?
Kabori Sarwar was my childhood crush. Even when I watch her performance in the song “Ektush Khani Dekho” I wonder it could have been so fortunate and adventurous to work with her at that time.
What is your dream role?
If I get opportunity to portray a character of a handicapped man or a mute then I would do that with full dedication. Take Kamal Haasan and Sridevi’s “Sadma” as example. Sridevi’s performance as autistic woman was superb. I need that kind of role to prove my acting ability.
