Rescue launch MV Agragami has gotten stuck at Haim Char in the Meghna river, which went to rescue the Patuakhali-bound launch MV Sattar Khan 1.
BIWTA port officer in Chandpur Mobarak Hossain told the Dhaka Tribune that MV Agragami has been trying to rescue the stuck launch MV Sattar Khan 1 from underwater shoal since 2pm.
"But, the rescue launch too got stuck in Meghna in the evening," he added.
Patuakhali-bound launch MV Sattar Khan 1 got stuck in Meghna river with over 600 passengers on board after hitting a hidden shoal in Haim Char upazila of Chandpur on Friday night.
The passengers of the launch were rescued on Saturday afternoon.
