Bodies of 3 Bangladeshis to arrive Thursday

The bodies of three Bangladeshi construction workers who were killed when a concrete span collapsed at the Mass Rapid Transit work site in Sungai Buloh, Malaysia will arrive in Dhaka on Thursday.

MRT Corporation Director of Strategic Communications and Public Affairs, Amir Mahmood Razak made the statement while talking to Malaysia's national news agency Bernama on Wednesday.

Construction workers Mohamad Faruk Khan, Mohammad Elahi Hossain and Mohammad Alauddin Mollik were killed in the concrete span collapse on Monday night.

MRT Corporation Director of Strategic Communications and Public Affairs, Amir Mahmood Razak said: “The bodies will be flown in to Bangladesh tomorrow [Thursday] morning once we get the permission to do so from the Bangladesh High Commission here.”

He said the family members of the victims had been contacted and would be waiting for the arrival of the bodies.

Amir said: “The MRT Corporation management has been given a week by the Land Public Transport Commission to complete the investigation into the incident while investigators from the Occupational Safety and Health Department are also probing into the cause of the mishap.”

He said the management has held a "tahlil" for the three deceased last night and would perform prayers for the deceased at the MRT construction workers' quarters on Thursday.
