Dhaka ranked world's 2nd least livable city

Dhaka is still the second least liveable city in the world, according to the Economist Intelligence Unit's Global Liveability Index. This year Melbourne has been ranked the most liveable city in the world for the fourth time in a row. Three other cities from Australia has made it to the top ten liveable cities, they are: Adelaide (5), Sydney (7), and Perth (9). As per last year, the immensely affected and war torn city of Damascus (Syria) has been ranked right after Dhaka. The Sydney Morning Herald mentioned that these cities were scored on the basis of a range of criteria like healthcare, education, infrastructure, and culture and environment. According to The Economist, this ranking reveals “that since 2009 average liveability across the world has fallen by 0.7%, led by a 1.3% fall in the score for stability and safety.”
