Chinese pop star Luhan has set a new social media record for most comments on a Weibo post, confirms Guinness World Records on Tuesday.

Luhan, a member of the pop group EXO has gained over 13,163,859 comments from his fans on a post about his favourite football team. The post says, "That's Why I Love Manchester United!"

Originally published on September 10, 2012, the post had achieved 13,163,859 comments as of 5 August 2014 – almost double that of the second most commented post on the Chinese social network, reports Guinness World Records official website.

Luhan is a member of EXO, a South Korean-Chinese boy band produced by SM Entertainment. Having made his name for singing and dancing, Luhan is now branching out into the world of acting, following a recent appearance in the Chinese movie Miss Granny.

The record marks the first world record verified by Guinness World Records since it began accepting claims from the leading Chinese language social media and communications platforms.

China already holds the Guinness World Records title for “Most internet users (country)” and, by the end of 2013, had 618 million netizens, representing 45.8% of the total population.
