Language veteran Matin hospitalised

Language Movement veteran Abdul Matin has been admitted to City Hospital in the capital on Monday.

Matin had a brain stroke that partially paralysed him, his wife told the media in the evening.

Matin, at first, was rushed to National Heart Foundation in Mirpur by a taxi at noon where doctors found that he had a brain stroke.

Later in the afternoon, he was shifted to City Hospital where Electrocardiography (ECG) was recorded.

A medical board will sit at 10pm to take the decision about his further treatment.

Matin, a veteran political activist, widely known as Bhasha Sainik Matin for his contribution in the language movement, has been suffering from old age complications for the last 17 years.

He is now 88 years of age, his wife said.
