Department of Narcotic Control (DNC) has arrested two drug peddlers with a huge quantity of drugs from a residence of Firingibazar area of Chittagong city on Saturday.
DNC personnel also seized 6,400 pieces of Yaba pills, 28 bottles of Phensedyl, 700 grammes of hemp and Tk18,300 from them.
The arrestees are Kamal Ahmed, 49, of Jubilee Road area in the city, and Rashid Ahmed, 30, of Cox’s Bazar district.
Both were handed over to Kotwali police station along with the seized drugs.
A case was lodged with the police station in this connection, said DNC sources.
Superintendent of Chittagong Metro Region of DNC, Chowdhury Imrul Hasan said, “We have arrested them from a second floor of a four-storied building at the area at around 1:30pm following on a tip-off.”
“The seized items worth Tk32,39,300,” the DNC official added.
“He mainly collects the drug items from Cox’s Bazar district while Rashid was one of his suppliers,” Chowdhury Imrul.
