2 missing teenagers rescued in Sylhet

Rapid Action Battalion 9 (RAB) officials have rescued two teenagers at Sylhet rail station, who went missing from Chittagong.

The rescued are Mehedi Hasan Himel, 15, son of Md Harun-or-Rashid of Srirampur village of Lakshimipur, and Abid Wasib, 17, son of Ekramul Kader of Shekherbil village of Chittagong.

South Surma police station Officer-in-Charge Md Morsalin said: “Acting on a tip-off, RAB 9 officials led by ASP Al Mahmud Hasan and ASP Khairul rescued the teenagers from Sylhet rail station area around 11pm.”

He said: “Hasan and Abid have been handed over to the family members on Thursday afternoon. They had left home after getting upset with their parents.”

Earlier, Himel and Abid’s family members filed a general dairy (GD) in this connection, he added.
